Calamity is a free-to-play action game from developer Something is Cooking, and it’s a pixel art aRPG adventure with support for multiplayer online co-op. Set in a dark fantasy world, players will work together as they explore and raid dungeons, battle tough bosses, and loot valuable items and gear. Newcomers can participate in the currently ongoing Beta test for a glimpse into the gameplay.
Player-driven world
Calamity is a three-player co-op sandbox dungeon crawler with three character classes, namely Warrior, Archer, and Mage. Each one boasts unique weapon and armor sets with active and passive skills, which can be further boosted with enhancements and socketed gems. All your gear can be combined in various ways to achieve unique effects and synergies, allowing you to tackle different challenges and situations.
The main highlight of the game, though, is its player-driven economy, wherein the value of items is dictated by supply and demand. Haggle with other players through the in-game marketplace that adopts a barter trading system of sorts. Now, the game is still in Beta, so development is ongoing, and there’s no exact release date for its full version yet.

All in all, Calamity is a charming MMO dungeon crawler with solid gameplay and an intriguing player-driven economy that should for interesting bartering situations among players.
